Karim offers a different insight into the Iranian perspective. In the beginning of her talk, she admits that she is not an expert on Iranian politics and appreciates that this collection of letters offers a more human face in response to politcal and social events that have and are occuring in Iran.

I agree with monasquire--The book is especially interesting because the pieces help reveal some of the emotions and concerns of people of Iranian heritage living in the US and in other countries.
