Is this guy sleepwalking through life? Just look at the state of labor and wages in America. Mr. Woods is basically spouting the lame old argument that if you eliminate greed from the equation Nobody will ever get out of their PJs and accomplish anything. Capitalism is dead or dieing and it is taking America and indeed the planet along with it if we do not interseed. Where is the profit in addressing the worlds crisis? All of the solutions cut into the corporate bottom line. Do not buy into the fallacy that tech, will provide the solution.
I felt alienated by Wood's talk because of his heavy emphasis on Catholicism. There are a lot of Americans who are Atheist, Agnostic, Muslim, Jewish--or a variety of other religions for that matter! I wish I didn't have to hear about Christianity so often. The issue seems especially out of place in an economic discussion.
