The View From The End Of The World with Sam Harris.
With gentle demeanor and tight argument, Sam Harris carried an overflow audience into the core of one of the crucial issues of our time: What makes some religions lethal? How do they employ aggressive irrationality to justify threatening and controlling non-believers as well as believers? What should be our response?- The Long Now Foundation
Sam Harris is such a clear inspirational thinker. I really enjoy listening to Sam and just wish that more people would read his books and listen to his arguments.
Very interesting. During the question session at the end he talked about getting thousands of emails. How awesome and completely horrible at the same time. A great feelings when you see your inbox but the trouble to read each email must be taxing. I'm sure he has staff that help out a great deal but wow. Great lecture though.
I really like the site, but I, too, have noticed, sadly, that many of the videos stop before finishing and will not advance no matter what I try -- I hope the bugs get worked out since the rich content here is very good. Obviously the work of the devil (joke).
The presentation Q/A was cut short. I have listened to an audio version of this talk on youtube, and at least one more interesting question was asked that was deleted here.
Excellent presentation in any event. Thanks for offering this.
